Who I am

I'm Javier Vega, a Software Engineer from Guayaquil, Ecuador. I hold a Bachelor's in Computer Science from ESPOL and a Master's in Artificial Intelligence from UEES.

Today I work at Banco Bolivariano, building banking services and integrations on AWS with Java and Spring Boot — from a phonetic search with OpenSearch that cut remittance cancellations by 50% to real-time interbank payments through BANRED.

Before that, I spent over two years at Telecu, where I grew from Junior to Semi-Senior full-stack developer building RAG chatbots, AI agents, voice bots and billing integrations with TypeScript, NestJS, React and Python.

I focus on dependable, well-tested systems and on practical uses of AI that solve real business problems.
